On December 1, Alexander successfully completed Grade 5 - for the second time.
The last day of school at Pridwin is a big Prize Giving ceremony - prizes in the "award" sense of the word. For about 2 hours, the boys from grades 4-7 were given awards - from effort to achievement to honors, in all the subjects. Also, music awards, sports awards, service awards, headmasters awards, all around awards and so on. Although I'm sure there is some reason for it, there seemed to be a very random award for "most promising batsman" (cricket batsman in case you were thinking baseball) which came with R150 gift certificate to a local bookstore. I am proud to say Alexander got a certificate - not of the gift kind, unfortunately - for making 100% on an exam - in his case a computer exam. Alexander's teacher said he expects Alexander to win all kinds of awards next year.
